چکیده
منطقه خلیج فارس به لحاظ ژئوپلیتیکی، ژئواستراتژیکی و ژئواکونومیکی، یکی از مهم ترین مناطق دنیاست که به دلیل وجود منابع سرشار انرژی و موقعیت حساس جغرافیایی وسیاسی نقش و جایگاه مهمی در ساختار امنیت بین الملل داشته و فضای مناسبی را برای ایفای نقش بازیگران فراهم میکند. این موقعیت برجسته خلیج فارس سبب شده است که در طول تاریخ مورد توجه قدرتهای فرامنطقه ای قرار بگیرد. آمریکا نیز بخصوص پس از یازده سپتامبر سعی نموده است تا جایگاه قوی و با ثباتی را در ترتیبات امنیتی و سیاسی منطقه خلیج فارس پیدا کند. باتوجه به این امر سؤال اصلی پژوهش این است که علل ایفای نقش واگرایانه آمریکا در منطقه خلیج فارس پس از یازده سپتامبر تا کنون چه بوده است؟برای روشن شدن ابعاد مسأله، مقاله حاضر با کاربرد رویکرد رئالیسم تهاجمی این فرضیه را مطرح می نماید که باتوجه به موقعیت مهم ژئوپلیتیک، ژئواستراتژیک و ژئواکونومیک خلیج فارس و منافع آمریکا در این منطقه، یکی از اهداف مهم ایالات متحده، تسلط و نفوذ بر این منطقه است (برتری بر رقبا) و از آنجا که یکی از راههای افزایش قدرت و نفوذ طبق نظریه واقع گرایی، تضعیف اتحادها و ائتلاف ها در بیرون می باشد، آمریکا در پی این است که با ایجاد واگرایی در بین کشور های منطقه موازنه را در خلیج فارس حفظ نماید و مانع تسلط دولت های رقبیب بر خلیج فارس شود.Divergent Role of the U.S in the Persian Gulf Region After the September ,11.

But in fact, the U.S and its role in the region cause divergence between countries in the region.
